Summary: cpu wakes constantly from C3
Product: ACPI
Version: 2.5
KernelVersion: v2.6.25-rc3-347-gcad226b
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P1
Component: Power-Processor
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Now and then, I get the following from powertop:
Wakeups-from-idle per second : 15126.1 interval: 10.0s
I've confirmed these silly amounts against /proc/acpi/processor/CPU*/power.
There is nothing in /proc/interrupts or the output from the kernel about
wakeups that is anywhere near those numbers. So the systems is simply falling
out of C3 all by itself.
The effect goes away if I start loading the CPU (loading one core is
sufficient) or if I offline the second core.
The problems magically solves itself if I wait a few hours. I have not found
anything connected to either the start or the finish of the effect.
System is a Thinkpad R61 with a Penryn Core 2.
