Summary: power button press produces multiple events Product: ACPI Version: 2.5 KernelVersion: 2.6.26-rc8 Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Tree: Mainline Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P1 Component: Other AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Latest working kernel version: unknown Earliest failing kernel version: 2.6.24 Distribution: Debian Hardware Environment: HP nc4010 notebook Problem Description: when the power button is pressed it sometimes produces two acpi events, sometimes one. With 2.6.26-rc8 I get two events quite reliably, with two different 2.6.25 Debian kernels I get two events more or less often. Steps to reproduce: cat /proc/acpi/event press the power button -> two events are printed on the terminal On most systems only one event is generated. Generating two events or even variable number of events makes using the button for anything but poweroff (like hibernation) quite difficult. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sponsored by: SourceForge.net Community Choice Awards: VOTE NOW!
