Hi, Zhang

I got my laptop up and running again. 
It was a hardware issue with the battery that is now resolved.
I reinstalled linux with a complete 64bits environnement : kernel and
userspace.
Then I moved to a 2.6.26-rc8 kernel and blacklisted the asus-acpi driver so
that asus_laptop module get loaded at init time.

Setting the backlight now perfectly works and the settings are kept after a
reboot.

The kernel version is the same. I suppose it was a asus-acpi or a software
issue.
