------- Comment #20 from [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-07-24 08:46 ------- I don't know what's the newest kernel available for stock Debian 4.0, but personally I don't recommend upgrading the kernel manually to any new/unexperienced Linux user. There is, however, a tool named "synaptic" included with the Debian Linux distribution (used for package management, so installing/uninstalling software provided by Debian). Look for this tool and see what's the latest kernel available there (you may want to search for "kernel" or "linux" in the available packages - then look for the newest kernel with the same suffix as yours, which would be "x.y.z-*-686". (The "*" stands for Debian-specific updates to that specific kernel version, so higher numbers are better for this field). If you still have trouble you may want to search with Google for a how-to (there are lots) or ask in a Linux support forum. A great German support forum is linuxforen.de, just in case you're from Germany. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ acpi-bugzilla mailing list acpi-bugzilla@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/acpi-bugzilla
