Sorry, forgot to mention that i had found this using git bisect. 
The commit does not talk about thermal shutdown problems, but it *fixes* them
(on the Asus Eee).

Using git bisect I also found the point where this problems with bogus thermal
shutdowns of Asus EeePCs started. First broken version was after the following
change
