I checked my records and OpendSuse 64bit with kernel 2.6.28 (# CONFIG_NO_HZ is
not set) and "noapictimer" freezed on 14.01. 2009 after 30 minutes. Sorry, I
tried it right after your Comment #41, but forgot to report.
Surprisingly the "placebo" parameter nolapic_timer (with 64bit kernel) worked
for 36h (Comment #27) but then it freezed (Comment #28)
