Summary: enabling ACPI APIC BIOS option on Asus M3A78 Pro cause
disk i/o problems leading to filesystem corruption
Product: ACPI
Version: 2.5
Kernel Version: 2.6.26
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P1
Component: Config-Interrupts
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
Regression: No
As reported at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=524643 - I
experienced disk i/o problems leading to filesystem corruption when I enabled
the ACPI APIC BIOS option on an Asus M3A78 Pro motherboard. This was when using
the 2.6.26 kernel but I do not know if other kernels are affected or not.
I am happy to provide further details and run tests, but I would appreciate
some guidance to avoid corrupting the filesystem again when doing so.
