the screenshot in comment #7 shows an IO APIC allocation error, and there are a
couple of changes between 2.6.30-rc2 and 2.6.30-rc4.
so my suggestion is that, try 2.6.30-rc4 kernel, WITHOUT "acpi=ht" parameter
this time, and attach the screenshot here.
