And in such case the local apic can't work in one-shot mode. Instead when the broadcast timer is used, the box can work well. And from the test in comment #10 we know that the local apic timer works in periodic mode when "nohz=off highres=off". But when "nohz=off" is added, the local apic timer still works in one-shot mode. And the box can't be booted.
