>From the acpidump it seems that there exists the _BCL/_BCM object. In such case
video driver will register the generic ACPI backlight I/F.
Will you please try the latest kernel and see whether the ACPI backlight
I/F is registered after loading the i915 driver?
It will be great if you can attach the output of dmesg with the boot option
of "initcall_debug".
