Plus, it’s only an issue because something *slow* happens while the screen is
black. If the duration of the black out was the same as in acpi=off (excluding
the interrupt issue), the screen would stay black for 0.001 seconds instead of
3.6, that’s quite different.

Yeah, that’s what I meant in comment #3. The only thing is, when I originally
tried acpi=off, I was misled in judgment by the interrupt-related slowdown
(more than 2 seconds), so I failed to notice the 3.6 to 0.001 improvement.

Please tell me if you need me to do anything more.
