Mike,

If it helps, I noticed the same problem when I first tried to install Linux on
this laptop.  I had to run the whole installer with acpi=off for it to
recognize my disk.  You should be able to run fine with 2.6.32 and only the #35
patch installed.  This is what is currently working for me.
