I am pleased to report that lowering the brightness now works. However, I am not able to raise the brightness. I have noticed an infinite loop in dmesg output. I have attached the latest dmesg output. Lowering the brightness works great though. I have tried to redo the test with the DSDT.aml but the acpi directory in /sys/kernel/debug/ has disappeared. Sorry for the delay, recompiling took some time.
