system suspends correctly (power button blinks as it should).

uppon resume, the display does not light up (no backlight). 
sysrq-reisub ignored. no panic, nothing.

what i may add, this is a notebook that suffers from a crazy bios issue where
some reserved space is not being reserved (or something like that), check bug
9905.

to get this working, i had to add to the kernel boot parameters the command
reserve=0xffb00000,0x100000

this might have something to do with it. i will try and test a broken kernel
with troublesome modules removed before suspending, and will report back.
