Summary: HP ProBook 4710 requires noapic to boot Product: ACPI Version: 2.5 Kernel Version: 2.6.34 Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Tree: Mainline Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P1 Component: Config-Interrupts AssignedTo: acpi_config-interru...@kernel-bugs.osdl.org ReportedBy: ognjen.ma...@gmail.com Regression: Yes Created an attachment (id=27175) --> (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=27175) lspci -vvnn Hello, I got a HP ProBook 4710 which comes with SLED 11 pre-installed (incl. 2.6.27) and booting etc. worked fine. Switching to Arch Linux and 2.6.34.1 (64-bit), however, the system won't boot unless provided with one of acpi=noirq, noapic or nolapic, and the temperatures remain rather high. Problem is not present with Arch's LTS kernel (2.6.32.16). I'm attaching the outputs of lspci, dmidecode and acpidump (after booting with nolapic), as well as the trace from dmesg after booting with nolapic (whether it's relevant, I don't know - the system keeps running afterwards but it doesn't appear with say acpi=noirq). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching the assignee of the bug. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by Sprint What will you do first with EVO, the first 4G phone?
