That shouldn't be necessary.  It looks like we clear the GPE status of the
sleep button/lid GPE during resume and your testing shows that the problem is
related to the GPE being not enabled at run time.

Please confirm that the attached patch on top of 2.6.38-rc3 (instead of both
attachment 46462 and attachment 46322) fixes the reported issue.
