Summary: pcie_aspm: unable to enable ASPM when battery powered
           Product: ACPI
           Version: 2.5
    Kernel Version: 3.6.9
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Linux
              Tree: Mainline
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P1
         Component: Power-Other
        AssignedTo: acpi_power-ot...@kernel-bugs.osdl.org
        ReportedBy: mav...@gmail.com
        Regression: Yes

On my Clevo W150HRM laptop (i7 2720QM CPU, HM65 chipset; please see dmidecode
output for details) with the 3.5.7 kernel, by echoing "powersave" to
/sys/module/pcie_aspm/parameters/policy I could turn PCIE ASPM on; I noticed
that with the 3.6.9 kernel this works only when the power supply is connected:
when on battery power it has no effect at all.

I still have to test previous 3.6 minor releases, but I have a feeling that all
3.6 releases are equally affected.

I'm running with pcie_aspm=force to overcome the "ACPI _OSC support
notification failed, disabling PCIe ASPM" issue.
