Bug ID: 64621 Summary: Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5340 video module causes kernel hang in UEFI mode. Product: ACPI Version: 2.5 Kernel Version: 3.12.0 Hardware: x86-64 OS: Linux Tree: Mainline Status: NEW Severity: high Priority: P1 Component: Power-Video Assignee: acpi_power-vi...@kernel-bugs.osdl.org Reporter: a...@memnix.com Regression: No Created attachment 113901 --> https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=113901&action=edit DSDT The ACPI video module "video.ko" is causing the kernel to hang immediately upon getting loaded. The computer doesn't respond to any input afterwards (not even MagicSysRq). This only occurs when booting in UEFI mode as everything works great in legacy BIOS boot mode. I've had this very same issue for the past 18 months of kernel releases and just realized that blacklisting video.ko solves the issue. I'm running the latest BIOS (6.20), and the two previous BIOS revisions didn't make a difference. This problem is not distribution specific. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching the assignee of the bug. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ November Webinars for C, C++, Fortran Developers Accelerate application performance with scalable programming models.
