Bug ID: 68421 Summary: Inspiron 3521, kernel hangs after passing acpi_backlight=vendor Product: ACPI Version: 2.5 Kernel Version: 3.12 3.8 Hardware: All OS: Linux Tree: Mainline Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P1 Component: Power-Video Assignee: acpi_power-vi...@kernel-bugs.osdl.org Reporter: okit...@ya.ru Regression: No The system stops responding on early boot, about as DRM/DRI kicks in, if I pass it the parameter "acpi_backlight=vendor". SysRQ doesn't work. No other parameters have been found that cause a similar reaction. I can't get logs because the system doesn't yet log stuff when it happens. I am using Debian Testing currently, but the problem has been found in Mageia with 3.8 as well. It, however, doesn't exist with Ubuntu 12.04 with kernel 3.5 or earlier distributions. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching the assignee of the bug. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CenturyLink Cloud: The Leader in Enterprise Cloud Services.
