Cinnamon (and other desktop-environments') power-applet does not show up and
laptop battery does not seem to report battery states continously.
Battery does not seem to be detected.
However, when resuming from suspend the power-applet appears and reports the
battery in the state it was at resume from suspend, but does not report battery
state more than this one time.
Cinnamons power-settings does not detect a battery until resume from suspend,
but then state of the battery stays the same even if the state is not correct.
Conky however reports correct battery states no matter what, but that may be
since conky updates itself every few seconds.
I have read about issues like these on other laptop-specific bug reports but
they was eventually solved without posting solution.
At first I thought this was a cinnamon issue, but other battery-monitors act
the same way (like batti). Because of this I cant recall as to when the problem
first appeared.
Also alt-ctrl-f1 to linux console shows a black screen unless laptop has been
resumed from suspend first. Cannot start secondary X server unless resumed from
suspend first either.
Seems like not every part of the computer is detected correctly until resume
from suspend, but this may be of entirely different natures than the battery
issue.
The problems are the same wether I run vanilla or -ck kernel sources.
