You should clone the following git repository: # git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git And apply your current distribution's kernel .config to it to build the kernel to boot. For bisect, you may use "git tag" output to select the initial "good"/"bad" kernels.
