If you are using latest upstream kernel, please enable the debugging of the EC driver: In drivers/acpi/ec.c, uncomment the following line and rebuild the kernel: /* #define DEBUG */ And please perform the test using the kernel: 1. boot the kernel with HandleLidSwitch=ignore; 2. perform LID close and wait for the state to be changed to "closed". Upload the dmesg output of the test here. For the suspend issue, IMO, it is different from this issue.
