Crash  is seen during OS boot in the ACPI code path with “v4.5-rc2” kernel on a
4 socket HPE SuperDomeX server with 120 logical cpus (60 cores with 2 threads
per core). Stack trace is pasted below.

Booting the same system with 4.4 stable kernel (v4.4 tag) is not causing any
issue. Hence the issue looks to be introduced between v4.4 stable and v4.5-rc2
kernel. The function where it is panicking is in acpi_irq_set_penalty() and
this looks to be a new function introduced just after 4.4 and when we traced
back the history of changes, we are finding out that the following commit is
the one that has introduced this change.
