this sounds like a BIOS issue to me, rather than an ACPI bug.
The root cause is that the PCI node for the SDIO controller is still populated,
even if ACPI mode is set in BIOS, right?

I'm not sure where your patch is targeted. to me, it's not likely to be in
upstream...

Anyway, Let's close the bug report first as this is not a real ACPI problem.
