Bug ID: 199525 Summary: Machine (MacBookPro) restart just after hibernation and hibernate after resuming. Product: ACPI Version: 2.5 Kernel Version: 4.16.0 Hardware: Intel OS: Linux Tree: Mainline Status: NEW Severity: high Priority: P1 Component: Power-Sleep-Wake Assignee: acpi_power-sleep-w...@kernel-bugs.osdl.org Reporter: p...@frumar.it Regression: No Created attachment 275603 --> https://bugzilla.kernel.org/attachment.cgi?id=275603&action=edit Dmesg from 3.10.17 After upgrading from 3.10.17 to 4.14+ ( but I suspect it started on 4+ ) my machine has a strange behavior hibernating and suspending. When I start the hibernation everything seems fine, but as soon as the machine goes off ( hibernating ) she starts again. I can at this moment power off her by long pushing the power button ( without trouble as I have elilo that wait for a key press before booting ). When I push the button to resume her the resume goes without problem but after few seconds she start a new hibernation cycle ( that does the same thing as before ). After this new ( unwanted ) hibernation if I power on her again the resume works without problem and there is not a new hibernation cycle. I can then use the machine without problems, but when I ask for hibernation everything starts again as described ( restart after hibernation and two resume needed to use again ). I can avoid this second resume cycle by modifying the pm-action script checking how long is passed from the previous hibernation cycle, but I cannot do nothing for the "restart again" phase. I have tried on 4.4.14, 4.14.31, 4.16.0 and it behaves in the same way. I can't actually test on 3.x as it don't compile on gcc 5 The same happens when I suspend ( two cycles of everything ) I will attach the relevant part of dmesg from the three kernel. Please apologize for my ugly description but I'm not native english so please feel free to ask for more detail. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching the assignee of the bug. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Check out the vibrant tech community on one of the world's most engaging tech sites, Slashdot.org! http://sdm.link/slashdot _______________________________________________ acpi-bugzilla mailing list acpi-bugzilla@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/acpi-bugzilla
