Bug ID: 201207
Summary: Touchpad Elantech e1200 lost connection, touchpad
Elantech e1200 freeze when 5 fingers touched, 1% load
cpu and non-correct interrup generated
Product: ACPI
Version: 2.5
Kernel Version: 4.16-4.19
Hardware: All
OS: Linux
Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P1
Component: Config-Interrupts
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Regression: No
IRQ generated from GPIO in touchpad subsystem , when touchpad not get activity.
Touchpad work on HID over I2C scheme with GPIO as interrupt input.
"The touchpad of an ASUS FX503VD laptop is not well handled by hid_multitouch
kernel module. The cursor jumps and trigger randomly click events (right
clicks)."
"sept. 21 14:30:38 papsou-fx503vd kernel: i2c_hid i2c-ELAN1200:00:
i2c_hid_get_input: incomplete report (16/65535)
I don't know if it helps a lot... But if handling the incomplete report
(16/255) to modprobe again the i2c_hid module it could « fix » or « hack » the
five finger tap freeze (but sometimes, the incomplete report message is not
displayed on 5 finger tap freeze)."
"Touchpad freeze when 5 fingers touched"
Please, read messages me (Adrev Ivanov), Benjamin, and Vladislav and Marc
Landolt.
"i tried the link and compiled a modified kernel with 4.18_RC6 and 4.17.2 but
it did not work, the errors went away but the touchpad still does not work"
"I tried Fedora 28 with kernel 4.17.7-200-fc28 but the touchpad still does not
work"
