Bug ID: 202289
Summary: Old laptop hangs with 4.19.*
Product: ACPI
Version: 2.5
Kernel Version: 4.19.14-200.fc28.x86_64
Hardware: All
OS: Linux
Tree: Mainline
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P1
Component: Other
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Regression: No
After fedora update kernel from 4.18.18-200.fc28.x86_64 to 4.19.* my laptop
"Compaq nx6325" can't boot properly:
Loads partially KDE - mouse pointer and konsole works, but nothing else, can't
run shutdown, except after switching to text console with ctrl+alt+F2 and press
ctrl+alt+del - shutdown begins but never finishes.
Last working kernel 4.18.18-200.fc28.x86_64 works fine with the new system
updates, but any 4.19.* version fails.
dmesg says things like:
