Thank you *so* much for that. That option never showed up in my searches.
Confirmed that on my machine that option allows it to boot and
suspend/hibernate are working, along with the function keys previously disabled
by 'pci=noacpi'.

>From what I can find, 'pci=nommconf' just disables (or tries to disable?)
memory-mapped access to some hardware. The kernel still uses an older fallback
for accessing it. I'd guess that at the worst case you might see some
performance degradation for some devices?

At least the device is usable now.
