Bug ID: 204603 Summary: keyboard backlight automatic behaviour Product: ACPI Version: 2.5 Kernel Version: every version in the last years Hardware: All OS: Linux Tree: Mainline Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P1 Component: Power-Video Assignee: acpi_power-vi...@kernel-bugs.osdl.org Reporter: mattia....@gmail.com Regression: No I have a laptop (Dell XPS 9343) which has back-lighted keyboard. I can control backlight normally, that is via Fn keys or software via 'sysfs'. I leave the duty to kernel: by default, the keyboard backlight automatically turns off after 60 seconds of inactivity; and it turns on automatically if I use the touchpad. Configurable via 'sysfs' (/sys/devices/platform/dell-laptop/leds/dell\:\:kbd_backlight/). The issue: when I use an external mouse (e.g. connected via USB) the 'magic' does not work... What I think is an issue or better a good [enhancement] is the extend the behaviour not only to internal touch-pad but also to external mice (or other input devices) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching the assignee of the bug. _______________________________________________ acpi-bugzilla mailing list acpi-bugzilla@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/acpi-bugzilla
