            Bug ID: 205365
Summary: acpi thermal zone constantly reports 25 C
           Product: ACPI
           Version: 2.5
    Kernel Version: 5.3.7
          Hardware: All
                OS: Linux
              Tree: Mainline
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P1
         Component: Power-Thermal
          Assignee: acpi_power-ther...@kernel-bugs.osdl.org
          Reporter: klaus.kus...@computerix.info
        Regression: No

Dell precision mobile 7740 notebook, manually configured kernel.

Thermal zone 0 is the acpi thermal zone.
Reading it (e.g. tmon) constantly shows 25.000 C,
independent of load and real temp,
even if the notebook heats up to the mce throttling temperature.
All other thermal zones work fine and deliver changing, realistic values
(except for the iwlwifi thermal zone, which is a known bug).

>From dmesg:

thermal LNXTHERM:00: registered as thermal_zone0
ACPI: Thermal Zone [THM] (25 C)

Nothing else in dmesg I could relate to thermal zone 0 or acpi thermal.

Is this a bios problem, a linux kernel problem,
or did I configure something wrong?
