I think I understand what's going on.  It seems to me that the boot firmware
had programmed the touchpad GPIO as an s0i3 wake source, but the kernel hasn't.

This means that even though the kernel doesn't touch those bits in the GPIO
register they remain enabled.  I've got a potential patch.  Can you please give
this a try?
