Product: ACPI

Hardware: Intel
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: low

acpidump output
Distribution: Arch
Hardware Environment: MouseComputer V650AU
Software Environment: Shutting down
Problem Description:
MouseComputer V650AU the system fails to shutdown--
the process gets to "power off" and hangs there.
It is necessary to do a hard shut down to turn the system off.
There is no problem with rebooting.
This behavior occurs consistently regardless of the shutdown method used and
has been observed on the latest kernel (6.19.6) as well as linux-lts (6.18.16).
## Shutdown methods tested
All of the following produce the same result:
* Poweroff via GUI in the COSMIC desktop environment
* `sudo systemctl poweroff`
* `sudo shutdown now`
## Kernel parameters tested
I attempted several parameters related to reboot/shutdown and ACPI behavior.
None resolved the issue.
Tested parameters:
* `reboot=efi`
* `reboot=pci`
* `acpi=noirq`
* resulted in a non-functioning keyboard
* `acpi_osi=`
* resulted in ACPI logs
* `acpi_osi=! acpi_osi="Windows 2020"`
* `acpi_osi=! acpi_osi="Windows 2015"`
None of the above parameters changed the shutdown behavior.
---
## Additional notes
I did see these logs when booting:
[ 24.178893] ACPI Warning: \_SB.PC00.CNVW._DSM: Argument #4 type mismatch -
Found [Buffer], ACPI requires [Package] (20250807/nsarguments-61)
[ 24.179920] ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve symbol
[^^RP28.PXSX.WIST], AE_NOT_FOUND (20250807/psargs-332)
[ 24.179934] ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.PC00.CNVW.IFUN due to previous
error (AE_NOT_FOUND) (20250807/psparse-529)
[ 24.179942] ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.PC00.CNVW._DSM due to previous
error (AE_NOT_FOUND) (20250807/psparse-529)
[ 24.207431] ACPI Warning: \_SB.PC00.XHCI.RHUB.HS10._DSM: Argument #4 type
mismatch - Found [Integer], ACPI requires [Package] (20250807/nsarguments-61)
My understanding is that these may not be related to the issue, but sharing for
visibility.
---
## Expected behavior
The laptop should fully power off after shutdown completes.
---
## Actual behavior
Shutdown appears to complete, but the machine remains powered on indefinitely
until the power button is held for approximately 3 seconds.
