            Bug ID: 221700
Summary: thinkpad_acpi prevents a machine from staying
                    suspended
           Product: ACPI
           Version: 2.5
          Hardware: All
                OS: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: Power-Sleep-Wake
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
        Regression: No

Since "upgrading" to Linux 7.1.1 my thinkpad can't stay suspended, it randomly
wakes up & runs out of battery.

the only clue I can find as to why this happens is:

Jun 28 10:27:47 sonia kernel: thinkpad_acpi: EMERGENCY WAKEUP: battery almost
empty

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:
- close laptop lid
- laptop goes into hybrid suspend
- if there's battery left to stay suspended then it stays suspended
- if there's not enough battery the machine resumes from disk
- no data is lost

7.1.1 BEHAVIOR:
- close laptop lid
- laptop goes into hybrid suspend
- something, log indicates now broken thinkpad_acpi, wakes the machine up
- the machine inevitably runs out of battery
- all work and data is lost, data loss is a risk

Please fix this or at minimum make a kernel / module parameter _everyone_ can
use to avoid this broken behavior. I'll just not use 7.x.x kernels until this
broken behavior is fixed, which is not a good long-term fix but it works.
