[I did do a search for this topic, but apparently the facility is not working]
Anyway (with apologies in advance for length): I'm running a small intranet. Using Access databases, lots of asp, all under IIS 6 (Windows Server 2003). Periodically the asp delivery just slows down so much as to be useless. This can be cured by immediatlely doing a recycle of worker processes. It is also vastly improved by reducing the recycle interval. I've looked for potential sources of memory leaks, and found and corrected a few. This has not solved the problem. I've also (suggested by another list) compacted and repaired the databases - and will continue to do this anyway. But the problem remains. Also found an error in the machine's event log: >"The Template Persistent Cache initialization failed for >Application Pool 'DefaultAppPool' because of the following error: >Could not create a Disk Cache Sub-directory for the Application >Pool. The data may have additional error codes.." And found one possible reason for this: the use of dcpromo.exe and the fact that it changes certain permissions, and the fix, which I implemented. The error still occurs, but is not necessarily connected with the main problem. I have done a lot of asp/database work (with IIS 5), but am still new to server administration. Has anyone solved this one? If so, pls reply. ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor ---------------------~--> Make a clean sweep of pop-up ads. Yahoo! Companion Toolbar.
