ROFLMAO! Umm, okay, so I'm not a math person!
You guys gave me the help I needed to realize that I could use AVG to get an
average for a bunch of numbers, but...there's a bit of a rounding problem I
didn't realize.
Here's the line I use to get the average from a bunch of article rating
numbers:
averageRS.Open "Select AVG(RatingNum) as AvRating from rating where
ArticleID = " & Session("varArticleID"), Conn, 1, 3
It seemed to work great...until more folks entered their ratings. Some
results end up needing a 11" inch page width to display the number!<lol>
Here's a fun example, click the rating button at the bottom of this article:
http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=297
Note the number of stars it says this article has received!
4.8571428571428571428571428571
Umm...anyone know how I can modify the code so we're not going nuts here?
TIA...
Dian ~
