I just wanted to put a number of pages that I know I will not change into the database itself.
To what end? I may be wrong, but it seems to me to be a minimal optimization and actually makes site maintenance _more_ difficult, because you are storing content in two places (on disk and in the database), plus you have to add special code to fetch the page outside of the normal page serving mechanism.
