If you want to call applescripts from 4D, no problem. It's just a do shell script. Use "osascript", "osacompile", and "osalang". They're in /usr/bin/osascript and they all have man pages. Let me know if you have any trouble.

We have not moved to 2004. (and may not - looking at Postgres/Java). I'm not tied to AppleScript, I just used that as an example of having the ability to "Do Shell Script" is very powerful (it's also helped overcome some of AppleScript's limitations). 'curl' was also just an example of something I could use - could use qfree instead but was, looking for the equivalent of "do shell script"
