I know that Alexander Heintz had a major e-commerce site that was
getting that many hits per day. In terms of raw speed, a G5 and a
well-designed site should have no problem serving 500,000 hits per day.

I remember talking to Alexander and Michael Bond about their setup at
the Vancouver Summit. I recall them mentioning that they had multiple
clients running Active4D via a load balancer.
Therefore if one machine can't handle the load adding an extra machine
or two probably could.
