This part is really critical, because you can keep the core (stable) database structure compiled, so that it's fast, and then you can use Active4D to experiment and develop additional functionality without bringing down the production database. Active4D is pretty fast, and for the most part, it makes up for the lack of an incremental compiler in the core 4D product.
