That was in windows 98 asking opening from the server. In xp the system asks if he wants to open or download.... If you choose open the system downloads and than says can not open because the file not exists. After this the file is there and a second try to open it is working. But the users outside hang on the phone and tell me it is not working. Now I looked in the archives and the following two lines before sending the file did the trick.

set cache control("")
set expires(-1)

But I don“t know why.. o well

When you say "if the user selects open on the server", does that mean after it is downloaded they try to open the PDF and it won't open?
