Ok, so I traced the values in the A4D_ResponseHeaderValues array in On
Web Connection, and sure enough it was doing exactly what it says on
the tin and abandoning the cookie when it was supposed to and resetting
the cookie when it was supposed to. Now, ever since I have debugged the
On Web Connection, I can't get it to go wrong!
I have restarted 4D and my browser and it's happily resetting cookie
values all over the place!
I have no explanation for this, but am happy that I can now stop
bashing my head against the wall.
cheers

Yes it is!!!
No, the problem doesn't appear to be with abandon cookie. It appears
to be with resetting the information on the existing cookie.
A4D version 3.0, OS 10.3.9, Safari 1.3.2, 4D 2003.5
I have created a test system which works OK (except not creating the
cookie straight away, I have to call it twice before it creates it?)
and resets the cookie information with or without abandon cookie.
I have put in Write to Console all through my code to check that I'm
not resetting the cookie elsewhere (which I'm not).
Any ideas?

Sounds frustrating, to say the least!
Any difference if you set the expire date on the cookie to 0/0/0
instead of
using abandon response cookie? A4D/Browser Version? Platform?

Hi guys,
I am have trouble with resetting cookie information.
The scenario is this:
A user visits the site, a customer cookie already exists. We check to
see if the user is the person for whom the cookie is set. If they're
not we want to reset the cookie to the new user.
According to the manual for 'set response cookie' - If the cookie
already exists, its value and attributes are reset to those given.
Which it does in the collection, but not on the client side.
So I called 'abandon response cookie' to delete the cookie from the
client browser first followed by 'delete response cookie' to delete
it
from the collection, before calling 'set response cookie' to reset
the
information.
When I look at the cookie in my browser and when I next call 'get
response cookie' after submitting the next page I still get the old
information.
What am I missing?
cheers
