This may be just a bug of the day at Apple in them trying to gather
metrics/data (look at Activity window and you'll see a url pointing
to metrics.apple.com), but I've tried this from several machines,
running different versions of Safari, with different user IDs and
it will lock out all Apple sites until I restart Safari.
After doing some checking, it looks like Apple must be hitting some
other port on the login request (I assume only if you are using
Safari) and our firewall must have it blocked. I could login to Apple
Discussions from home, but still can't from work. It still fries the
Apple site and I'm not sure why.
