I have a quick question regarding the NextID tag. I am designing a
system
in which users will be entering in records via the 4D Client and
automatic
ingestion reading xml files. What I would like to confirm is that
by using
the NextID tag in my automatic ingestion script that will give me
the next
job number in the given field/table and lock it from being used. I
assume
to avoid the next job number in the sequence be used by the 4D
client I
need to use the inkeepSelection parameter.
If you mean a4d.utils.nextID, yes, that is what it is designed to do.
