Hmm ok.  I think I understand.  In my test site, I get: Safari can't
open the page "https://mrteeny3.local/"; because the page doesn't
exist. Make sure the address for the page is correct.

However, leaving out the set response status, it works like a charm.

Any harm in leaving out the 303 reponse?

Test in other browsers (especially IE), if it works then run with it. You could also try 302 instead of 303, see if that works.
