This is really just a health warning, but someone may have an idea.
We've got a system running A4D v3.0 and 4D Server 2004.7r3 on OS X
which we recently updated from 10.5.4 to 10.5.5. Active4D now hangs
(4D Server unresponsive) whenever it gets a request that serves a page
on any DB (including the Active4D Demo database). If you start by
requesting a non-existent page on the Demo DB it will give you the
polite error, but then hang on a real request. We are intending to
upgrade to A4D 4.5 (or 5 for 4Dv11 please!), but the development cycle
for the client means that we are "stuck" on A4D v3 for a while.
Activity Monitor shows 4D eating 95% of one CPU. Unfortunately you
can't sample the process because it's in Rosetta (Intel Mac).
Things we have tried:
1. Reinstalling Leopard back to 10.5 - no joy.
2. Running from a new user account - no joy.
3. 4DSTATS works fine.
4. Putting in a trace in On Web Connection shows that the call to "A4D
Execute 4D request" is where it hangs.
5. There's nothing in the Active4D log file.
