I might jump in here,
sadly it is not as easy as I had hoped (being a big fan of v1
components, I have databases where the code is 85% - self configuring
- components).
You still need a bunch of methods in the host database, as the plugin
API does aparently only give you acces to the host database methods,
so a plugin can never access a callback method that’s part of a
component.
I am currently evaluating the possibility to autmate that process
using the excellent API Pack from Pluggers.nl,.
I have a component working, but only ith the NTK WebServer, thngs get
more complicated with the built in http server.
If I find a solution I will let of course all of you know.
I can make my NTK Component available when I gat around to create at
least a rudimentary documntation for it.
Cheers,
Alex
I was hoping.. with the v11 release, that an Active4D component would
ease the release/update process.. just for the part that comprise the
shell of course, cause everything else can be handled as text.. is
this possible?

Actually. If we know the release date of the shell revision, you
can do a
find in database for changes after a certain date. Better than
nothing.
Just look at the modification date of the shell for the previous
revision,
then search for anything that was modified after that.
