No, you don't need to. Out of the box, v5 assumes you are using a legacy site in iso-8859-1 (latin-1). > What are the potential ramifications of this change? A hole in the space-time continuum. ;-) If you change the content encoding, you will have to go through all of your code and find the places where you are referencing latin-1 encoding and change it to UTF-8.
