Yes. It will be downloaded to 4D Remote. > 2) 4D Remote is installed on the web serving computer. (I think this ends > up by default in the "Program Files" directory?) We deploy the web client on Mac, but I wouldn't think the location would matter unless you have to contend with Windows permissions issues. 4D Remote is in the Applications Folder in our case. > 3) Do the folders "Web" (my web files), "Active4D" (configuration files) > and "Web_Static" (files served directly by 4D) all go here? > > <SystemDisk>:\ProgramData\4D\com.aparajita\Active4D\ If that is what the docs say, I'd say yes. > (Is there a problem having an Active4D folder within an Active4D folder?) > > or can I put them here (with the 4D Remote application, which is how I > think I used to do it)? > <systemDisk>:\Program Files\4D\ My experience IIRC was that doing it the old way didn't work. I don't have the docs at hand, but I think you can configure where the files can go, but I never got it to work. Using the defaults did work. > 4) In the 4D Web Server Preferences, do I just enter "Web_Static" for > "Default HTML Root"? Or do I need more of a complete path for it to be > found? We use NTK so I can't answer this. > 5) Finally, where does the key file go? On 4D Server or 4D Remote? (The > docs just mention in the "4D shared licenses folder", but doesn't specify > whether it's on Server or Remote.) I think in the past it went on the 4D > Remote (4D Client) machine. Is there a licenses folder on the 4D Remote > computer? Where? On 4D Remote machine. The actual path location is in the docs. There are past threads on this topic in the Nabble mailing list archive. > Sorry if these are stupid questions; again, haven't done this in a while, > and would like to give clear instructions to the folks who will be setting > it up, since I won't have hands-on access to the system.
