Hi Aparajita,

I certainly didn't mean it to come across like that!

I think the following section confused me... (I am easily
confused!)

The Active4D Directory
All config files must reside in a special directory called
“Active4D”. Active4D will look for
the Active4D directory using the following search path:
- The database directory (Standalone/Server) or application
directory (Client)
- The shared 4D directory
- The ~/Library/Preferences directory (Mac OS X), Windows
directory (Win95/98/Me/XP)
or WINNT directory (Win2K, NT)

"- The database directory (Standalone/Server) or application
directory (Client)"
There is no mention of 4D Remote so I wasn't sure where the
Active4D folder should go. I then found these folders
"C:\Users\Jeremy\AppData\Local\4D\Active4D-demo-v11_192_168_0_6\c
om.aparajita\Active4D." I was using the Active4D v5 demo to test
the configuration which has an Active4D folder next to the
structure (no conf or lib subfolders). I was simply copying this
Active4D folder (or the contents of) into the Active4D folder. No
joy!

"- The shared 4D directory"
I didn't know where or what the shared 4D directory was.

"- The ~/Library/Preferences directory (Mac OS X), Windows
directory (Win95/98/Me/XP)
or WINNT directory (Win2K, NT)"
Before trying the Windows directory found the following
searching back through the Active4D List I found the following
"[1]http://www.digipedia.pl/usenet/thread/14238/1010/";
and also :
[2]http://active4d-nabble.aparajitaworld.com/Active4D-files-locat
ion-on-4D-Remote-web-server-version-12-on-Windows-td3672858.html

These got me on the track of the
C:\ProgramData\4D\com.aparajita\Active4D (I assume now this is
the shared 4D directory?) and Michael Larue and the folder
structure within the Active4D directory et voila.

If I buy the v5 Active4D is there an upgrade path to v6 Active4D
or should I wait for V6 ?
I have V4 but assume there is no upgrade path to V5/6?

Cheers,
Jeremy.
