I am experiencing a very similar issue, similar enough to believe they are
related. When I adjust my brightness through the battery in the taskbar, after
a few moments it resets to 100%. This happens both on battery and AC power. I
am not sure what other information I should provide but I am using a samsung
laptop, KDE 4.9 & Kernel 3.6.7 with Linux Mint 13. This same issue has been
present since I began using kde on Archlinux as well.
